Harassment and bullying at work factsheet

Another useful factsheet from the CIPD.  It looks at the UK legal positions on harassment and bullying at work and outlines the responsibilities of employers and employees in addressing the problem.  Advice on dealing with complaints is also included, along with some helpful points of contact.

Measuring wellbeing for healthy workers and organisations

Business leaders are being urged to measure employee wellbeing in a new report by the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing at Work.  Their short guide “provides a working definition (what is wellbeing?), a summary of the evidence linking wellbeing and performance (why measure wellbeing?), and information to help with selection of metrics (how to measure wellbeing)”.

Mental health in the trades: 2022 report

The report includes the results of a survey of UK tradespeople and highlights the scale of work-related stress in the industry.  It looks into how things have changed from 2021’s survey, the most common causes of stress, the impact on tradespeople’s lives, and some tips from the mental health charity Mind.

Women @ work 2022: a global outlook

Following on from Deloitte’s initial report in 2021, the results of their 2022 survey highlight a disparity between expectations and reality.  Their recommendations include 5 issues that employers hoping to improve gender equality should address.

Work related stress and mental health quiz

Work Right, which is run by the Health and Safety Executive, launched the Working Minds campaign last year.  Although specifically targeted at small businesses, its aim is to help recognise the signs of work-related stress and make tackling issues routine.  This short quiz on Work Right’s website has been created to test our knowledge of work-related stress and mental health, including what’s needed to comply with the law.
